Hi Christian, I wish I had a

Hi Christian,

I wish I had a better explanation on this one, but it sounds like it may be a small incompatibility between the Java Virtual Machine (on which screen-scraper runs) and a component on your Windows machine. We've occasionally seen things like this, for example, when screen-scraper is run on a secondary monitor.

One possible remedy would be for you to install screen-scraper fresh, which should also upgrade the Java Virtual Machine. There's no guarantee that this will fix the issue, but it might. That is, download the version 6.0 installer from our web site for your platform, and it install it alongside your existing installation of screen-scraper. You'll want to simply install it in a different folder from your existing installation. Be sure you don't un-install your existing installation so that you don't lose any of your work. If it turns out that the newer installation of screen-scraper doesn't have the issue you just described you should be able to export scraping sessions and such from your old installation, then import them into the new installation. Once you've confirmed that all of your scraping sessions and such are accounted for in the new installation you should be able to un-install your old installation.

No permanent cure

Unfortunately the display scrambling in my original installation has come back. What is the best way to move my projects to the newly installed instance (see your suggestion above).

best regards

Christian

Make sure neither instance is

Make sure neither instance is running, and then copy the files from resource/db from the old installation to the new one.

Thank you, Todd! Installing

Thank you, Todd! Installing Screenscraper 6.0 from new (in parallel, as you suggested) seems to have magically healed the original installation?!

P.S: hope, that the cure is permanent
