Trial version Installation fails

Hi,

We use InstallAnywhere for our installation program, and, unfortunately in this case, we're at their mercy when it comes to this type of thing. I've searched their support documentation, and can't seem to find anything related to the error message you're reporting. My best guess is that the 'Assertion failed' error isn't a fatal problem, and that the installation could proceed normally. However, with Visual Studio installed, it's dutifully trying to help solve the problem by halting execution of the installation procedure in order to give you a chance to debug it. Is there a way you could stop Visual Studio from doing this temporarily in order to allow the installation to proceed regardless of the error?

If none of that helps, please feel free to re-post.

Best,

Todd

Trial version Installation fails

I think its version 1.5 (just downloaded it 1 day ago) and its 22.16 MB in size (Windows version).

The error message appears in a pop up window with a title of 'Microsoft VC++ Runtime Library'

It also says: 'Assertion failed!'. I have Microsoft Visual Studio 6 & Visual Studio .Net 2002 Professional installed on my machine.

Trial version Installation fails

Hi,

Thanks for your posting. This isn't a problem we've heard of before, but here are a few initial questions that may help to troubleshoot the problem

- What version of screen-scraper are you installing? I'm guessing it's the most recent (1.5), but we need to make sure.
- Where does the error message appear that you describe? Is it a pop-up window? Does it appear in a DOS prompt?

Best regards,

Todd Wilson
