sub-Extractor Pattern
I need to extract the info from the following HMTL
The problem is some of the images don't have id. So the HTML will be like this:
How do I use sub_extractor pattern to extract the id (be null if it doesn't exit) and title?
Thanks a lot!
Can't scrape after log in
Hi
I wrote two scraping file based on the tutorial 3 for log in. First file is to log in the site and second one is to extract the pattern.
From the response for the first scraping file I can see that I've logged in.
However for the second scraping file (with the different URL) it redirect to signup page as if I haven't log in.
It says in the tutorial that the screen-scraper automatically retain the cookies for the log in. Is anything else I am missing?
I am using the pro edition.
Thanks a lot
how to do a conditional if then ?
Hi all, this has probably been answered before. But here goes.
I am scraping a simple baseball page. Some times a pitchers name has a link around it, and sometimes it does not.
example:
SS 3.0: Tidy error log file is being used by another process
Hello:
I'm trying to run down the cause of missing output records due to skipped input files. It appears that because the tidy error log file is being used, the scraping engine skips the file. I get the following error in the error.log file:
An error occurred while generating the Tidy error log file: E:\Program Files\screen-scraper pro\log\tidy.log (The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process)
Posting message rejected, "automatic insert"
There was an attempt of an automatic insert of the message in a forum. Your message is rejected
What is this about? I've lost the message I was posting, with some effort.
Edit:
Just lost another constructed message - very unhappy.
SS 3.0 regular expression engine reference
Hi:
Which library reference is SS using for its regular expressions? I may be having a problem with text that contains cr-lf (newline) characters.
TIA

SS 3.0 Mapping - regular expressions - not matching
Hi:
Seem to be having some problem here getting the session variable Edit Token | Mapping feature to work with regular expressions.
Got type = "contains" to work OK with literal string, but not type = "regular expression" Doesn't match .* , which is about as general as you can get.
However, now have gotten ^.*$ to match.
Forum default search setting any terms >> all terms
Hi:
Is there a setting so that I can make my search default "all terms" instead of "any terms"? I don't think I've done a singe "any terms" search, so I have to switch the default radio button every time.
TIA

Forum posts -- some don't word wrap
Hi:
In some (most?) of the forum posts I'm reading, the text doesn't wrap in the window I've got open. This makes me have to go to full screen mode to read some of the posts, as opposed to simply having the text adjust itself to the size of the window I've got open.
Is there some setting I need to use to change this behavior?
TIA
