Linux install
I'm looking to install the basic version on a small linux box withóut X server. I understand that using a tarball is the recommended way to do this. I can find this link: [url]http://www.screen-scraper.com/install/professional/lin/ss_pro_lin.tgz[/url], but that seems to be Professional v3.0. Is there a basic version 4.0 tarball somewhere?
PS: There seems to be a little confusion about download pages; [url]http://www.screen-scraper.com/download/basic_choose_platform.php[/url] lists 4.0 as the latest version, while [url]http://www.screen-scraper.com/download/download_screen-scraper.php[/url] says 3.0
PPS: I'm asking because I can't get the normal install to work; even as root, I get

Sorry for the confusion. The correct way to do this should be as you indicated in your first update
./setup_ss_basic.sh -c
I just tried this on one of our machines running Ubunutu and it installed just fine. Could you give a bit more detail on your environment? What distro are you running? Any chance it could be an issue with permissions? What happens when you run the installer as root?
