Web page will not display
When I turn on the proxy settings in IE the web page I want to scrape will not display. I get the message "The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings. ". If I click the refresh button I do get the certificate warning, but pressing OK still will not load the page. Screen-Scraper records the request, but not the response. Is there any way around this?

Actually, yes. In order to upgrade you do. If you'd like, you can simply email me instead and I'll send you the file you need. My email address is my first name at screen-scraper.com.
Kind regards,

Todd,
This must be an option on the Pro version. I am running the free Basic version. Do I need to try the Pro version?
Thanks,
Rick

Hi,
Open the "Settings" dialog box (click the wrench icon in the button bar) then check the box labeled "Allow upgrading to unstable versions". After that you should be able to upgrade via Options -> Check for updates.
Best,
Todd

Todd,
Thanks a lot for looking into this. I hate to sound like a novice, but I am. How do I upgrade? I installed the version on the website, but it looks like what I already had (2.7) and the scraper session still didnlt work. Is there a trick to upgrading to the 2.7.0.1a version.

Hi,
We've just made a fix for this in version 2.7.0.1a. Would you mind upgrading and trying it out? Take a look at this FAQ if you run into trouble upgrading: here.
Kind regards,

Hi,
In the recent past we may not have had much recourse on this one--certain sites use non-standard certificates chains, which cause problems with screen-scraper. However, the library we use to handle the HTTP transactions was recently released under a new version. We'll try that out to see if it resolves this issue and post our findings to this thread.

I am able to create a scraper session using just the request from the web page, but now I get the following error when I run the scraper session
File from Medicare_PDP An input/output error occurred while connecting to 'https//www.medicare.gov/MPDPF/Public/Include/DataSection/Questions/QuestionsCounty.asp'. The message was java.security.cert.CertificateException Untrusted Server Certificate Chain.
Do I need to do something about the expired certificate? How do I get by this error?
