"Write Access Error"...
"In order for screen-scraper to function properly, please ensure you have
write access to the folder in which screen-scraper is installed as well
as all of its sub-folders.
For example, I found that you don't have write access to the following file(s):
D:\Screen-Scraper\screen-scraper Basic Edition\resource\db\ss.data"
Seems like Screen-Scraper wants to delete SS.data and re-create it
each time it runs. Have I got that part right?
And I *do* have access.
To Wit:
- Checked the folder and file props all the way up and down the chain
and everybody has Full Access
- Manually created a file called SS.data in the referenced folder with
no problem.
- Set the shortcut that calls Screen-Scraper to run as Administrator.
- D-drive is just my "Data" drive, so there's nothing special about
the permissions as might be the case with C:, the System drive.
What am I missing?
Windows 7 Professional, SP 1, Screen-Scraper v6.0, 64-bit version.
FWIW, I have another machine (Windows 7 Home Premium) where the same
version of Screen-Scraper is running with no problems - and on that
machine it is even installed on the C: drive, albeit in a separate
"C:\Program Files (Other)" directory.
Is this a new install or the
Is this a new install or the same you had issues with?
