debian, problem with server start command

Hi Guys,

i don't know what happened, everything was working correct till now, when trying to restart server i'm receiving this error:

./server: line 364: /home/sscraper/ScreenScraper/ss01/jre/bin/java: No such file or directory

any idea, why? i tried to replace folder from backup but still the same

P.S. guys maybe thats just co-accident but, after last update i have weird errors, about debian i wrote above, in windows i got: unable to load main class. is that happening only on my computer?

hey scott, yes this directory exist, and i copied fresh new one, updated and still showing me the same error, i didnt touch anything, i was going to import new script, and i couldnt restart server because of this error

This is odd. It's seems like screen-scraper is unable to access the files in that directory and is instead reporting the entire directory as missing. Could you check the owner and permissions on that directory?

They should be the same owner and permissions as the resource directory.

If this does not solve the problem have a look at this FAQ for a possible work around.

and because on this machine is other very important stuff installed i cant just reset everything

sorry for bothering you,
i checked and on my box have installed followed packages:
java-common install
java-package install
sun-java6-bin install
sun-java6-jre install
tzdata-java install

any idea what could happen?

P.S. the weirdest is, because i copied ss copy from other linux box, where ss is working correct and that didnt help either... i dont have even idea where to start

Here's a shot in the dark...did you happen to copy your installation of screen-scraper from a Windows machine to your Linux box?

Even if you copied from Linux to Linux I recommend to a fresh install of screen-scraper rather than copying from another instance.

Try a fresh install and let us know how it goes.

im using my fresh and old screen-scraper installation what i was using before, and there is another problem, since last week, i have excalty the same troubles with my ss on windows machine, i have database corrupted error, i removed old ss from my hdd, i reinstalled the new fresh, and nothing changed, i removed everything from registry, and i still have the same error,
today ill install fresh screen scraper on my debian, to look for positive results, but at the moment im totally confused

Hey Scott,

i figured out linux version,
because im an old user of screen scraper, i didnt know that now we have 64 bit version availble to install, so loooks like problem was because i was trying to run 32 bit version on 64 bit linux
its working ok, but i have to fix windows version now, and its not because of 64 bit this time :D

if i sort out windows problem, ill let you know

I really don't what where was the problem, i was talking to Jason as well, and he showed me how to kill processes, and like i said, i removed manually everything from registry, and even after, when i was trying new installation, in new folders, with new name, i had the same error all the time, i don't even know how to generate this error :D
what i remember, before all of this, i had blue screen few times, so maybe that cause my problem
