screen-scraper public support

So how exactly does Screen-Scraper write to an SQL or Access database?

i tried to get some data from some not-english sites using ss, but i found that ss would get results like "hel?k?od" in both ISO and utf-8 charset. Im looking for a solution to this, but i dont know where to get more information about these kind of problems.

Is that right? I see mention of lots of newer versions now.

I also checked the allow unstable versions, and tried again, nothing.

I am working through the tutorials and have been doing ok but when i run a proxy session eg the first one New World the first line on the progress log is correct but then it is followed by four more rows all containing "Error" in the status column, is this correct because when i first ran it a dont remember seeing them

Whats gone wrong?

any help on this would be good as i dont want to carry on if ive already caused a problem just to find bigger problems later on

I am a newbie, but I have this working pretty much as I want to:

I have a script called "run" that I invoke from the commandline:

Set RunnableScrapingSession = CreateBean( "com.screenscraper.scraper.RunnableScrapingSession", "test" )
Call RunnableScrapingSession.SetVariable ("TestVar","Val")
Call RunnableScrapingSession.Scrape()

I'm stuck! I followed the shopping tutorial on signing in to the shopping site web page, but when I try to do this for a different website, nothing!

Here's what I dd:

1. I ran a proxy session where I signed in to the website.
2. I found the http transaction that had stuff in the 'post data panel'
3. I createda scrapable screen from this http transaction
4. Sure enough, the paramters tab show the post item/value pairs

The extractData function is not listed "Professional Edition only" in the API document, but when I try to use it I get
Confirmed Block: Returning becase extractData was called in the basic edition.

I'm not sure this is in the tutorials (I worked through them a couple of weeks ago and this is the first instance I've come across this).

Using Screen-Scraper's scripting engine, how does one call/implement an extractor pattern?
